The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Wilma "Billie" Ingalls can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

The lighting of a Memorial Candle not only provides a gesture of sympathy and support to the immediate family during their time of need but also provides the gift of extending the Book of Memories for future generations.

Fifty-plus years of memories

Our admiring connection to Billie goes back for over 50 years, from first meeting her either when she ran the Rubicon store, or possibly, if I remember correctly, when she sang in the Machias Bicentennial Pageant choir (for which I provided piano accompaniment).  I also had occasion to meet her gracious husband Hollis during those early years, and a little later on enjoyed having Duane take my classes at UMM.  Of course, we also knew Brian and Valarie through the Rubicon.  In more recent decades, I have had considerable direct contact with Billie through the Machias Bay Chamber Concerts Association.  Always upbeat and generous, she will be long remembered for her vast influence upon the Machias Valley area.
