The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Wilma "Billie" Ingalls can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

A Fabulous Lady

As a new bride coming to Machias  31 years ago, Billie was one of the first people I met here and one that I always looked up to. She was a class act  with wit and humor that only Billie had. She was extremely respected, admired, and enjoyed by all that met her. I will never forget one day she joined the Machias Historical Society's meeting and after the meeting was telling us so many stores about Machias and herself and her coming here as a bride from Lubec  that she had the entire room in stitches. Someone said to her "Billie, you should join us regularly and become our President" and she answered mtter of factly, "Well I suppose I could but being 91 I don't think you could count on me.", and everyone just cracked up! She was never lost for words or stories and spoke her mind. I admired her termendously even though I didn't know her well. I also loved being addressed as "Well Dear" by her.

I regret I cannot attend her Memorial today due to my husband's and my current health issues but I will keep you all in my heart and in my prayers.
