With heavy hearts we share the news of the death of our father Andrew J. Dana , 85 who passed away May 26, 2017 at his home surrounded by his loving family and friends. He was born at home on March 31, 1932 Pleasant Point to Grace Dana and Louie Nicholas. Andrew grew up at Pleasant Point and married the love of his life Evelyn G. (Francis) Dana on Oct. 26, 1957.
He was a wonderful man who loved his family and community. He enjoyed playing bingo , watching wrestling, Big Bang Theory , and 2 Broke Girls. He worked as a carpenter, at many seasonal jobs, and as a laborer.
He was predeceased by his wife Evelyn (Francis)Dana of 55 years, but together 60 years; sons- Andy Dana , Lenny Sapiel ; mother Grace Dana ; sisters- Rose, Gladys, Juanita, and Ramona ; two brothers -Roger and Sopiel.
He is survived by ten children Laura Jurewicz and husband John , Irving Dana , Andrea Dana , and partner Fox Probert , Jeffrey Dana and wife Mary Dana , Monica Altvater and husband Mark , Darrin Dana and wife Maggie , Janice Dana and partner Jeff Turner , Stella Dana , Sara Dana and partner Kent Rowen , and Bun Dana ; his brothers and sisters – Cecilia Trott , Thelma Bassett , Gracie Emmert , Geraldine Romano , Donnell Dana , John Clyde Dana , Lorene Homan, Blanche Sockabasin , Patricia Nicholas , and Ursula Newell ; numerous grandchildren , great-grandchildren , nieces and nephews.
A wake will begin 5 pm Sunday May 28 until 10 am Tuesday, at his home, 123 Indian Road, Pleasant Point. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 am Tuesday May 30 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church , Eastport with Rev. Kevin J. Martin Celebrant.
