My sincere condolences to Shalba and the entire wonderful family. Phil was a very close friend who I admired so very much for his remarkable combination of courage and faith. As both a patient and friend his always positive spirit combined with a rich sense of humor was a great inspiration for me and the lives of many. Phil, until we meet again to have another blueberry muffin, your spirit will be with me. In tribute and memory, I will be sending a contribution to the Foundation Fighting Blindness.
