Obituary for David C Look

Jonesport-David Courtney Look, 78, left port from the Moosabec Reach, sailing to his heavenly home on October 24, 2022. He was born on June 7, 1944 in Machias, the son of Orrin W and Mittie M Look. He grew up on his beloved Look’s Point in Jonesboro until he met the love of his life, Priscilla Dixie whom he married on June 9, 1963. Together, they raised their 3 daughters in Jonesport.

David was an avid commercial fisherman, an entrepreneur starting many small businesses in the seafood industry. Gathering with fellow fisherman friends at Byron’s for coffee and ‘tall tales’, and spending time on his tractors were two of his most favorite leisure activities. A fine Christian and member of the Sawyer Memorial Congregational Church, David was a hard working, dedicated family man, known by many and loved by all.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Priscilla Dixie; his daughters, Dawn, Joy and husband Colon, Heidi and husband Stephen. Grandchildren: Amanda and Dirk, Ryan and Joanna, Sean and Holly, Zach, Sarah and Mark, Logan and Kirsten, Seth and Jessica as well as 11 great grand children.
Siblings: John and Sheila, Douglas and Molly, and Velma and Marvin. Brother/sister in law: Sid and Sharon as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

‘It takes a Village’ and the family is most grateful for the friends, family and community who have helped during David’s journey, too numerous to name but all will hold a place in our hearts forever.

There will be a private service at Look’s Point Family Cemetery at a later date.

Because it was his desire to see the steeple back on the Congregational Church, the family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in David’s memory to:
