Leroy A. Kilby , 87, passed away peacefully on June 19, 2022 at a Machias hospital with his loving family by his side. He was born September 9, 1934 in Pembroke the son of the late Carroll and Nettie (Kelley) Kilby. He was a graduate of Dennysville High School , and proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force. He worked for the U.S. Postal Service for many years retiring as Post Master. He was a life member and Past Master of Crescent Masonic Lodge in Pembroke, and also served at District Deputy. He was a member of the Dennysville Congregational Church. He enjoyed hunting, and spending time at the Muscatel Inn, but most of all he cherished the time spent with his family.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 66 years Jennie (Townsend) Kilby ; four children – Cheryl Ramsey of Calais, April Theriault and husband Paul of Eastport, Carroll and wife Valerie of Dennysville, and Karen Kilby of Swanville ; 7 grandchildren – Natalie Brown and husband Jason , Rachel McNally, John Ramsey Jr and wife Haley, Kelsey McLain and husband Matt, Ashley Kilby and fiance Justin McPhail Seth Fowler, Liza Fowler and fiance David Bedrosian; 10 great grandchildren ; many nieces ,nephews, and cousins.
In addition to his parents he was predeceased by a grandson Matthew Durand, and two sisters Elizabeth Kinney and Rita Howard and her husband James.
Funeral services with Masonic services will be held 1 pm Saturday June 25, 2022 at the Dennysville Congregational Church, with burial to follow in the Dennysville Cemetery . In lieu of flowers memorial donations in his memory may be made to the Dennysville Congregational Church or to the Dennysville Volunteer Ambulance Service C/O Wayne Seeley, 1935 US Route 1, Edmunds TWP, ME 04628.
