Obituary for James aka Jamie, Jaymz, Uncle Ogre,FOOF,, and many more William Huntley

James (Jamie, Jaymz, Uncle FooFoo, Uncle Ogre) W. Huntley, 50, of Lubec, died peacefully surrounded by his family and close friends, on June 19, 2022. He was the beloved son of the late Edwin “Butch” Huntley and Ellen Huntley Keenan, brother of Meredith Huntley, uncle of Ellie and Jackson Ampuja, and stepson of Stephen Keenan.

Jamie graduated from Lubec High School in 1990, and the American Motorcycle Institute in Daytona Beach, FL in 1996. He was a fisherman for years and then became an over-the-road truck driver for another decade before the decline in his health began. He was a storyteller, and particularly loved regaling people with tales of the adventures that he and his friends had as teenagers. He also loved heavy metal music, taught himself how to play the guitar, and had a gift for writing stories & poetry. He enjoyed reading about philosophy, alternative medicine, and science fiction. Jamie’s greatest pride came in being from Downeast Maine, and his home town of Lubec. He was a member of the Lubec Volunteer Ambulance Corps, and at that time was the youngest person to be certified in CPR in Maine at the age of 12. He appreciated the beauty in nature, especially watching sunrises at West Quoddy Head or on the beach at Ocean Park. Jamie brought love, joy and his quirky sense of humor to people and it was dearly returned. He will be forever in our hearts.

Jamie is predeceased by his grandparents Edwin and Elsie Huntley of Lubec, and William and Phyllis Paterson of Belmont, MA. He also leaves his great aunt Lorri and great uncle Hal Borstell, aunt Jean and uncle Joe Galvin, uncle William Paterson, aunt Donna Rooney, and cousins April Nelson, Wendy Harris, Chuck and Tracy Rooney, Will Rooney, Amanda and Tony Budny, Tyler and Stephanie Paterson, and Jessica and Alan Holt. He is survived by many of his brothers and sisters from another mother.

Per his wishes no services are planned.
Donations in Jamie’s memory may be made to Truckers Final Mile, 3301-R Coors Blvd. NW,

Albuquerque, NM 87120 (http://www.truckersfinalmile.org), a charity which is designed to reunite truck drivers and their family in the event of loss of life, debilitating injury, serious illness, a crisis at home, or the need to make mobility improvements at a driver’s home. We would also like to encourage people to donate blood, as it was through donors that we were gifted with bonus years of Jamie's life
