Obituary for Glen C "Skeet" Wilbur

Glen C. “Skeet” Wilbur, 66, of Cherryfield, Maine, went to his heavenly home on June 21st, 2021.

He was born in Farmington, Maine on June 11, 2955. Glen graduated from Narraguagus High School in 1973. He graduated from Glen Cove Bible College with a bachelor’s degree in Religious Education in 1977, and he also attended Grand Rapids Baptist Seminary. Glen married his beloved wife, Patricia Wilbur, on July 14th, 1979, and they were blessed with three children. Glen’s family will always remember how hard he fought and how brave he was at the end of his life.

Glen accepted the Lord as his Savior at five years old and felt the call to be a Pastor at a very early age. Glen pastored several churches and established a Christian School. He always had a variety of interests, hobbies, and careers. He served as a pastor for over 45 years, and in recent years, he continued to own and operate the same furniture and appliance store that his parents started many years earlier. Glen loved animals, music, spending time with his family, going camping, collecting baseball cards, and playing chess (a hobby he shared with his family at a young age and enjoyed playing with his late father, Glen. B. Wilbur). Glen was thrilled with his first grandson, Jackson, who was born on his and Patty’s wedding anniversary in 2018.

Glen was a loving and devoted son, father, husband, brother, uncle, and grandfather. He is survived by his mother Norma Wilbur, his wife Patricia Wilbur, his daughter Jennifer and her special friend Wesley Marquis, his son Joshua, daughter-in-law Anna, grandson Jackson, and daughter Jamie. He is also survived by his sister and brother-in-law Marie and Fred Wieninger, his brother and sister-in-law Stan and Theresa Wilbur, his sister and brother-in-law Nancy and Ben York III; his nieces Julie, Amanda, Katie, Bethany, Breanna, Meagan; his nephews, Benjamin, Brandon, David, Joseph, and many other special relatives and friends, too numerous to list.

A small private service will be held to celebrate Glen’s life. In lieu of flowers, a benefit account in memory of Glen has been set up at Camden National Bank. Those wishing to make a donation to help Glen’s family with the medical expenses may visit any branch.
