David B. Rice Obituary

David Bartlett Rice passed away on March 31, 2021. Born March 4, 1939, in Saugus, MA, David was the sixth child of Dorothy Bartlett and Albion Ramsdell Rice. David attended school in Saugus and was the co-captain of the Saugus High Football Team. He spent all of his summers in Lubec, ME. He graduated in 1957. He went on to become a welder and was a member of Boiler Makers Local Union #29. He moved to Lubec full time in 1984.

David was an avid adventurer and loved his snowmobile, ATV, Ford truck and side-by-side He,and Connie enjoyed traveling in their 5th wheel camper attending many fairs in the state , especially Fryeburg, as well as many concerts.. He loved and cared for the blueberry fields that have been in the Rice family since the 1800s.

He is survived by his life partner of 36 years, Connie Ferris; his brother Malcolm S. Rice and his wife Sandra Rice; his sister-in-law Audrey Rice; his stepchildren Allison Lynn Walsh and Holly Wilt; three grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He also leaves behind nine nieces and nephews, and 19 great nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, April 17 @ 11AM at Split Hill Cemetery, Lubec, ME.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the West Lubec Methodist Church, 867 County Road, Lubec, ME, 04652.
