Obituary for Donald Leo Burke
Donald L. Burke was born to Leo and Martha Burke in Chicago in 1926. He served proudly in the US Army during WWII. In August of 1947 he married Emma. Together they raised 5 children; Tim, Sharon (Ray) Bock, Mary (Michael) Kelly, Nancy Settle and Sue (Rick) Haff. They have 10 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
They moved to Maine in 1979, eventually settling into their cabin in East Machias. Don built the cabin himself and his children and grandchildren still enjoy visiting there. Don enjoyed fishing, woodworking and playing cribbage. He loved going out to eat with his many friends. He was a devoted husband to Emma until her death last year. He was a fun and loving father and grandfather and will be sadly missed by all of us.
