Richie then went on to serve in the Army where he was on active duty in the Vietnam War from 1966-1968. During his military service he was awarded several service badges. Richie was a member of Harwood Masonic Lodge #91 for 45 years, a life member of Disabled American Veterans, and was very proud to be a member of the Anah Temple Shrine. Richie thoroughly enjoyed residing on Gardener Lake with his wife Linda. His happiest moments were on the lake when he was cruising around on his boat, riding the jet ski, pulling kids on tubes and water skis, having cookouts with his family and friends and watching the sunset on the horizon from his sailboat. When Richie wasn't enjoying life on the lake, he was participating in camping adventures, 4-wheeling excursions, and snowmobile trips. Richie had a true passion for life and lived it to the fullest.
