Obituary for Janice MacLean

Janice Marie MacLean, 81 of Cherryfield went home to be with the Lord and her heavenly family on November 27, 2020. She passed at home surrounded by her loving family after a brief stay in the hospital.
Janice was born and raised in Cherryfield and attended Cherryfield Academy. She was the youngest and last surviving of 12 children born to Florice (Willey) & James Raleigh Brooks. " The last of the 12 little Brooks" she would say with sadness, then recall all the great memories she shared with them.
In 1965 Janice married the love of her life Vergil MacLean. Always together, side by side they raised their family of 4 girls.
Janice worked in the local Blueberry factories, made wreaths, and worked as a CNA for a while. She enjoyed being a home maker and taking care of her family and friends. She loved to spend time with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren and her many nieces and nephews. She was loved by all and will be remembered fondly by all who knew her.
She is survived by her loving husband of 55 years Vergil MacLean. Her daughter's Janet and husband Robert Robinson of Cherryfield, Laura and husband Leonard Garnett of Steuben, Jennifer and husband Stephen Gaudette of Cherryfield and her grandchildren Rebecca Robinson and fiance James McAlpine, Christopher Robinson and wife Laura Mello-Robinson, Stacy and her husband Nicholas Grant, Katie Garnett and husband Evan Brown, Cortney Garnett and husband Raymie Sandborn, Ava Gaudette, her great-grandchildren Dakota Simard and fiance Monika Ramos, Timothy "TJ" McAlpine, Cole and Cayden Robinson, Landen & Elizabeth "Ellie" Grant, Raymie "baby Ray" Sandborn, Leona Brown, and Rayne Pelletier, Great-great-grandchildren Madelyn & Charlotte Simard, very special niece Nancy Torrey and many other nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents Florice (Willey) and James Raleigh Brooks, Daughter Wendy (Torrey) Simard, granddaughter Jill (Hudson) Simard, and great grandchild Mackenzie Simard, her siblings Ken Brooks, Alvah Brooks, James Brooks, Jessie Torrey, Mildred Calhoun, Esther Bartman, Bertha Strout, Ray Brooks, Earl Brooks, Dorothy Farnsworth, and Boyd Brooks and special niece Ruth Brooks.
A private celebration of life will be held at a later date.
