Janice was born and raised in Cherryfield and attended Cherryfield Academy. She was the youngest and last surviving of 12 children born to Florice (Willey) & James Raleigh Brooks. " The last of the 12 little Brooks" she would say with sadness, then recall all the great memories she shared with them.
In 1965 Janice married the love of her life Vergil MacLean. Always together, side by side they raised their family of 4 girls.

She loved to spend time with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren and her many nieces and nephews. She was loved by all and will be remembered fondly by all who knew her.
