Christine E. Riggs, 83, passed away October 12, 2020 at the Machias Veterans Home. She was born in Trescott September 5, 1937 one of twelve children of the late Arnold and Katherine (Murray) Knight.
She was a graduate of Lubec High School. She worked at Roosevelt Campobello International Park as a gardener for many years. She also enjoyed gardening , as well as hunting, and camping.
She is survived by a son Herbert Riggs, and his wife Laurel; grandson Joel Riggs and his children Amaya and Damien Riggs; a granddaughter Heather Fitzsimmons, her husband Carleton, and her two children Cody and Starr; a grandson Michael Riggs, his wife Katie, and their daughter Cora; and a granddaughter Tabitha Parsons, and her husband Chad; a sister Quanita Davis; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In additon to her parents she was predeceased by her husband Jackie “Joe” Riggs, and a son Michael A. Riggs.
The family would like to give special thanks to the staff at Maine Veterans Home-Machias for taking wonderful care of Christine for many years.
Graveside services will be held 11 am Saturday November 7, 2020 at the Whiting Village Cemetery with Pastor Garry Look officiating.
