Dale Alan Preston, 63, passed away unexpectedly May 14, 2020. Dale was born April 21, 1957 and lived the majority of his life in Washington County. It is often said when one loves the ocean to its depths, salt water runs through their veins and that was so true for Dale. He was happiest when he was near or on the ocean, The ocean was not only his livelihood but also where he found contentment in this crazy world.
Dale is survived by his loving companion Deanna Albee Stanhope of Roque Bluffs, Maine; his mother Joyce Hooper Meyer of Connecticut; children Andrew Preston and Dale Wright and granddaughter Emma Preston all of Franklin, Maine; grandson Brennon Patterson of Florida; brothers Terry Preston, Sr. and Joe Meyer of Connecticut; brother Carroll (Bub) Preston of Florida; and sister Diane Preston of Connecticut. He was predeceased by his father Freeman Preston, Jr.
Dale will also be greatly missed by his friends in the community, including his early morning coffee buddies as well as his many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
A memorial service will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please reach out quietly and help someone in need. Dale was a quiet man with a big heart and he would be so pleased to have these acts occur in his memory.
