Morton Eugene Thaxter Sr , 80 ,died January 30, 2020 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born January 24, 1940 in Addison the son of the late Lewis and Edna (Higgins) Thaxter. Following high school he proudly served his country in the U.S. Airforce. He most recently worked from 1982 to 2017 caretaking for Pleasant View Manor . He was a member of Tuscan Masonic Lodge # 106 in Addison, the N.R.A., Sportsmans Alliaince of Maine, and the Columbia Falls Fire Department.. He enjoyed Hunting, Fishing, watching westerns, and riding the barrens.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years Patricia ( Bagley ) Thaxter ;children- Dawn and Lawrence McManus , Darlene and Danny Stubbs , and Morton “Danny” Thaxter Jr and his wife Sheri ; grandchildren - Aimee and Tyler Wagner, Christopher McManus ,Joshua and Jenn Stubbs, Derek Thaxter, Jared Thaxter,and Kyle Thaxter ; great-grandchildren - Landon Pinkham, Emily Pinkham, Ashley Stubbs, Logan Stubbs,Willow McManus,and Aubree McManus; one great-great grandson Hunter Pinkham; many loved nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Memorial services will be held 2 pm Sunday Feb 9, 2020 at the Columbia Falls town hall gym, to include Masonic services, followed by a celebration of his life. In lieu of flowers donations in his memory may be made to the American Diabetes Association or the Parkinson’s Foundation. Condolences and memories may be shared at www.mcclurefamilyfuneral.com
