Jessika Guptill

Jessika Guptill, 41 years old, passed on January 27, 2020 after a stoic battle with cancer. She was born August 20, 1978 in Ellsworth, ME the daughter of Lyle and Deborah (Hanscom) Guptill. She was known for her creamery creations handmade on her quaint farm, Olde Sow Farm, in Lubec, Maine. Her favorite pastime was spending time with her 7 children meandering the fields with her cows and sheep teaching her family the tricks of her trade and about the beauty and mysteries of nature. She loved to dance with her children, share her sense of humor, and spend lazy days at the lake. Jessika will be remembered for her sense of adventure, love of all things lemon, little vases of forget-me-nots, and her passion for her children and animals. Jessika is survived by her beautiful children Zoie, Jude, Veda, Ayla, Ida May, Elan and Luca. In her last days, she was loved and celebrated by her parents, Lyle and Debbie Guptill, siblings Erika Netzorg, Monika Guptill and Erik Guptill, Aunt June Ashmore, her best friend, Dante Zanoni, and her extended family. She shared memories of the good times past and dreams for the future of her loved ones.
Services will be held 1pm Friday January 31, 2020 at the West Lubec Methodist Church, followed by a Celebration of her Life at the Lubec American Legion at 2pm.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her memory to a scholarship fund for her children: Jessika Guptill Scholarship C/O Bar Harbor Banking &Trust 68 Washington Street Lubec, ME 04652 or FMI call (207) 733-4931

To Jessika's family.
You don't know me and we've never met, but Jessika had a wonderful influence on many people from the Keeping a Family Cow forum we all belonged to. Please know there are many people spread across this nation and other countries who knew her and loved her and shared the good times and the bad. We learned from each other finding our way with our animals and many times our families, too. She was a special lady. So very sorry to hear this news. My thoughts are with you all. Shawn from Kansas.

I remember what a lovely person Jessika was and how friendly she was when I met her. You felt like you had known her longer than you did. I'm so sorry for her Family and Her children! I know she will be so missed by everyone who knew her. She is not suffering any more and I will remember Her lovely smiling face. May God Bless you all. Love and Prayers, Brenda

Why is it that the people making a huge positive daily difference in the world leave us way too soon? For those that know and love these special individuals, I guess whenever they go it is much too soon. Jessika was an amazing strength of love and passion with a great sense of humor. This world and our community was so lucky to have her energy. She lives on in the lives of her amazing children that she and Dante and this loving community have raised to be hard working, honest, smart and compassionate individuals. Her dedication to her children, her cows and her Creamery is an inspiration and will be deeply missed. I will always treasure the sweet relief of hilarious fits of laughter that Jessika would bring about with one of her crazy stories of farm life with the kiddos. Until I got to know her better and operate my own farm, I would think, there's no way this much crazy sh*t can happen to one individual, but Jessica was not one to let life pass her by. She grabbed those horns and packed more than a lifetime into those 41 years and I'm so grateful I was able to share in a few of those with her.

I will always remember Jessika being at Oona’s birthday party I think, when Zoie and Jude were really small. Dante, I think you were there. Everyone was, it seemed. Jessika was so calm and loving when Jude wandered into the hornet’s best. Oh it must have hurt, Jude. To the whole Zanoni clan, I am so sorry Jessika has left so young. With much love and blessings for healing.
