Joan,
I have had many tearful days as of late. I miss you so much. You were my person, the one person on this earth that loved me and worried about me more than herself. There is a crazy virus tearing through our world right now. I am so glad you left for heaven before it arrived. I could use you here though for some perspective. Why are Christian acting so selfishly? Why won’t they show acts of kindness by simply wearing a face covering? I will never lose faith in God, but I am losing faith in people. I have carried on our traditions by placing flowers on the graves in May and wreaths in December. Mason and Olivia helped me decorate and place the wreaths this year. They miss you. I fondly share with them memories of you, they will never forget. I miss our evenings together eating at Tom’s, shopping and as Christmas arrives our shopping extravaganzas. I loved shopping with you this time of year. You loved Christmas because you loved Jesus but also because you loved us and you loved giving. It will never be the same. I haven’t been shopping this year at all and my shopping is nearly done. Things are so different with you gone. When you were here you longed to be there and now that you are there I long for you to be here. I know you are with our Lord and pain free and worshiping Him everyday with those you love, but here - my heart is lonely. You left a hole that can not be filled. I will finish the race and keep and share the faith but everyday I will remember the person I called sister who loved me like a mother. I miss you more than even these words express. Until we meet again ... ❤️

“Keep the faith,” a charge from your mother, Edith Chandler Prescott, so many years ago! In that charge, you took great care of your sister Stacey, her immediate family as well as faithfully praying for family and friends near and far to come to know the Lord! Many of your family, are now living with that faith as week. You persevered with many physical difficulties and you pressed onward. Now, you have a seat at the heavenly table, a good and faithful servant. It is my prayer that everyone of your prayers are answered and that through your life and your love of family and the church but most importantly our Savior Jesus Christ, that others will come to know Him and seek his face for comfort and blessing! I remember before you were in your wheelchair, you praying with me at the altar of your church family and kneeling besides me as I cried and prayed, whispering “it’s okay Jo, God has a purpose for your life, trust him!” Thank you! I do trust Him and I am thankful of the many times we prayed together and you talked with me about hope. My life of faith has grafted in all your examples, “Thank you for loving me!” Be at peace!

To the family of Joan
Sorry for your loss, but it is Heaven's gain. No more pain for her and memories she left to help heal the sorrow.
"He gave us beauty for ashes the oil of joy for mourning the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness . May God's love encompass you in the days and weeks to come
