Blanche E. Johnson , 81, passed away August 15, 2019 at the Machias hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was born November 20, 1937 in East Machias to the late Harold and Mariam (Dennison) Hasty. She was a grauduate of Washington Academy.She worked for Travelers Insurance Company , and then for many years locally at Merrill Bank in Machias, Main Street Mobil, and Johnson's Town Line. She enjoyed her plants, and flowers, as wellas playing cribbage and cards, especially Skat. She vas also a volunteer for many years at the Down East Community Hospital coffee shop.
She is survived by her husband of 65 years Edgar Johnson ; a son Glenn Johnson and wife Tara ;a daughter Teresa Saddler and husband Karl ; grandchildren- Lukas and wife Megan , Cody and friend Maya , Camon Johnson, Katherine Sadler, Brandon Day and wife Nakita, Breanna Day and friend Ethan; great-grandchildren Mia, Kady, and Eli; a special life long friend Beth Pettegrow.
Graveside services will be held 2pm Saturday August 31, 2019 at the Jacksonville Cemetery in East Machias with Pastor John Sprague officiating.
