Guyula B. Thompson , 76 , passed away graciously into her Heavenly home March 8, 2019 surrounded by her devoted family at a Machias nursing facility. She was born November 2, 1942 in Bar Harbor the daughter of the late Eric and Florence (Alley) Hatt. At the age of 9 she traveled to Falmouth, where she spent a number of years studying at the Baxter School for the Deaf. Upon graduation, she returned to Beals and was actively engaged in Island activities. She raised two wonderful daughters Irma and Zelma, who were the pride of her existence. She was loved and admired by all who knew her, always carrying a warm smile and a gentle touch. Never complaining at her own frailities. She was a member of the Beals Advent Christian Church. She enjoyed painting ceramics, and number painting , search words, and most of all, long rides in the car. She will be missed by her many friends and family.
She is survived by her daughters Irma, and Zelma and her husband Alton ; A granddaughter Patricia and her husband Stephen ; two great granddaughters Macie and Abbie ; sisters- Christine and husband Frank ,Mildred, Helen, Nancy and husband Vinal; a sister-in-law Sandy; many nieces , nephews, and cousins.
In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her husband of 44 years Ralph Thompson ; her brothers- Herbert , Jimmy , Eric, and Noyes ; brothers-in-law Donald Garnett, and Walter Reynolds ; two sons -in law Scott Chandler and Gilbert Alley.
A special thanks to Noreen and Connie for the care provided at home, and to the staff of D.E.C.H. And Marshall Health Care for the care she received while there.
Visiting hours will be held from 1 pm until time of funeral services at 2 pm on Tuesday March 12, 2019 at the Beals Advent Christian Church.
