Allan Leroy Wood , 84 passed away Febraury 25, 2019 in Machias surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Machias October 15, 1934 the son of the late Bernard and Cora (Morse) Wood. He worked for many years as a lobster fisherman, and also dug clams and worked in factories. In more recent years he enjoyed watching the lobster boats come in , so he could roast the crew. Hanging out at Tom's Mini-Mart, but of course his favorite past time was driving to Bucks Harbor (going 25 mph “APL DUMP”) feeding all the animals along the way, and visiting all his special friends.
He is survived by his daughter Marjorie Gardner and husband Phil ; grandchildren Terri Barker and husband Larry , Suzanne Lewis and husband Bryan ; great grandchildren- Keirsten and husband Tyler , Damon, Brecken , Brayden , Finn , and Ivy ; long time friends- George Sprague and Bob Richardson, along with the rest of the Bucks Harbor / Port Crew
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife Owena , and a brother Bernard Jr.
He will be laid to rest alongside his wife at a later date. In lieu of flowers , memorial contributions may be made in his memory to the Childrens Miracle Network.
