Carol Jean (Gardner) Armstrong , 71 of Machias passed away peacefully on July 13, 2018 at her home. She was born May 29, 1947 in Lubec the daughter of the late Martin James and Beryl I. (Green) Gardner.
Carol attended Whiting Village School, and was a graduate of Washington Academy, class of 1965. She went on to attend the Arthur Angelo School of Beauty where she received her cosmetology license. Carol also attended the University of Maine at Machias . She enjoyed reading, gardening, music, and spending time with her great grandchildren.
Carol is survived by her three children- her son James Armstrong and his wife Laurine, her daughter Janet (Armstrong) Bernier, and her son Patrick Armstrong, all of R.I. ; her grandchildren – Amanda Armstrong and her Fiance Danny Hickman of Machias , Zachary Bernier and Dylan Armstrong of RI and her great grandchildren Alizay Cox and Hayze Hickman of Machias ; brothers- John Gardner of Saco , Philip Gardner and his wife Marjorie of Machiasport , Kenneth Gardner and his wife Linda of Limington, and Ronald Gardner of Whiting ; sisters- Ruth (Gardner) Saumer and her husband Richard of Cathance Township, and Deborah Gardner and her husband George Molinski of Whiting. She also leaves behind her aunts, several nieces, and nephews, and her two beloved cats.
` In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her brother Frank Gardner.
