Roberta S. “Bobbie” Beal, 89 passed away May 26, 2018 at an Ellsworth hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was born September 10, 1928 the daughter of the late Joseph and Coris (Tenan) Sproul. Bobbie was a graduate of Cherryfield Academy. While raising a large family, she worked at various jobs until her retirement. She enjoyed doing jigsaw and word search puzzles on her Kindle, playing cards and watching the Red Sox. She especially loved telling stories and her time spent with her family.
She is survived by her children – Dwain Beal and wife Joanne of Milbridge; Laura Brockman and her husband William of Saco; Lela Michie and husband John of Levant; Frank Beal of Cherryfield; Roberta Hipkins and husband Alfred of Brunswick; Sally Beal of Cherryfield; daughter-in-law Etta Beal of Milbridge; sister Ruth Bucci of Stoughton, MA; brother Robert Sproul and wife Sandra of Tybee Island, GA and special friend of the family, Lisa Hedberg of Cherryfield.
Grandchildren- Robert Beal, Melissa Beal and partner Kevin, George Beal Jr and wife Kristine, Billie Jean Beal, Shawn Beal and wife Tricia, Kevin Beal, Darcy Moon and husband Robbie, Joshua Brockman, Alyssa Michie, Erin Otis and husband Richard, Katherine Michie and partner Joshua, Corrine Beal and partner Jeremy, Lorelei Hipkins and partner Antonio, Cedric Hipkins, Henry “Lee” Deniger, Gabriel Deniger.
Great-grandchildren- Chelsey Beal and partner Cody, Alex Beal, Colby Beal, Cindy Beal, Makayla Dorr, Michael Beal, Logan Beal, Katelyn Beal, Rhea-Lynn Beal, Nicholas Blanchard, Layne Moon, Keira Moon, Ilyana Drozd, Emilea Drozd, Lucas Otis, Isabelle Otis, Abigail Otis, Children of Lee and Gabe Deniger; great-great granddaughter Joycelyn Newenham; many nieces, nephews, cousins and special furry friends Mittens and Moxie.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a son George Beal; a daughter Cindy Deniger; a granddaughter Crystal Deniger; three sisters – Rebecca Foster, Audrey Sproul and Jean Norton; three brothers – Joseph Sproul, Richard Sproul, and Clyde Tenan.
Graveside service June 3rd at 1:00 pm, Small Cemetery, North Street Cherryfield. Friends and family are invited to meet in Bobbie’s memory following the service at the Cherryfield Academy Community Center from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Cherryfield Academy Community Center.
