Rae Ann Oakes June 2, 1953 - May 7, 2018 East Machias, - Rae Ann Oakes, 64, cherished wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend was called to Heaven as she was surrounded by her family, on Monday, May 7th, 2018. She was born June 2, 1953, the daughter of Raymond and Ethel Ramsey. Rae Ann attended schools in Orono. Rae Ann was married to Peter Oakes for 45 years and had two children, Travis and Tina. Rae Ann was a Mom, Nannie, Auntie to many of those who met and loved her. She has touched many lives and will forever be loved and missed. Rae Ann is survived by husband Peter of East Machias, son Travis and partner, Jamie Moores, of Marshfield, daughter Tina Mason and partner, Dickie Huntley, of Machiasport, Sisters Ethel Heckman of Vasselboro and Lu Smith of Waterville, Grandchildren Katrina, Chelsea, Mikayla, Ava, Cole, Ethan, Brady, Zachary, Alexia and Abby. Great-granddaughter, Brooklyn, and many nieces and nephews. She will also be fondly remembered by special friends, Jan and Jim Melton, and Sue and Gary Derickson. She was predeceased by her parents, brother Rick Ramsey, sister Donna Mae Ramsey, brother-in-law, Jim Heckman, and brother-in-law, Dave Smith. A Celebration of Life will be held July 7th, at 1:00 pm at the Pellon Center, Machias, ME.
