BRUCE L. PENNELL
1942 - 2017
 
WHITNEYVILLE - Bruce LeRoy Pennell, 75, passed away peacefully on June 13, 2017.  He was born on January 11, 1942 to Carroll LeRoy and Jennie Edith (Cox) Pennell.  
He graduated from Machias Memorial High School in 1960.  He held various jobs, including auto mechanic, appliance repairman, school bus driver, and truck driver.  He retired from the Maine Department of Transportation.  Bruce enjoyed camping, snowmobiling, four-wheeling, boating, spending time at the lake, and especially looked forward to deer hunting season.
He is survived by his wife, Jane (Kilton) Pennell; daughter Lauri Cooper and husband, Mark, of Fairfield; son Kevin Pennell and wife, Megan, of Etna; and daughter Kim Mushrow and husband, Brian, of Hampden; his sister, Carol Ann Smith, of Jonesboro; nine grandchildren; one great grandson; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was predeceased by his parents; his second child, Cyndi Pennell; his brother, Franklin “Bub” Pennell; and two nephews, Peter and Mark Smith. he family would like to thank the Down East Community Hospital staff and Beacon Hospice of Augusta for their kind and helpful care during his illness. Many thanks also to his friends and neighbors for their care and help during the past year.
