Richard C. Hayward
Jonesport, Maine
Richard Hayward, 63, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family. He was taken by a brief but difficult battle with cancer March 13, 2017. He was born July 1, 1953 in Waltham, Massachusetts, to the late Leo and Juanita (Campbell) Hayward.
Richard will be forever remembered by the Schoodic family for hide-n-seek, and water fights with the grandchildren, endless games of horseshoes with friends, and making wooden Eagles for his kids and friends.
He was predeceased by his parents and two brothers, Johnny Hayward and James Monroe, and nephews Jamie and Shawn Monroe.
He is survived by his wife of 31 years Leta ; children Michelle Holbrook and husband Bion of Lamoine, Maine, Ray Brooks and wife Cherie of Jonesboro, Maine, Trudi Holland and husband Thomas of Jonesboro, Maine, and Stephen Kennedy and partner Whitney Dennison of Bangor, Maine; a brother Ray Butler and wife Dottie of Marlborough, Massachusetts; Sister-in-laws Beverly Bagley and Darlene Bubar of Cherryfield, Maine, Shelia Williams and Judy Farnsworth of Columbia Falls, Maine, and brother-in-law Forrest Bubar and Linda of Addison; Grandchildren Shaylyn Holland, Jakob Holland, Sierra Hachey and husband Josh, Shawn Fagonde, Kaylee Brooks, Kaitlyn Brooks, Hayden Kennedy, Gabriella Kennedy, and many nieces and nephews.
Richard will be remembered by special friends Larry Smith Sr., Larry Jr., Daren Smith, John Pelletier and Laureta Johnson, Randy Kelley, Rob Healen, Randy Blackwood, Bo and Penny Beal, Kevin and Gina Brooks, , and special son-in-law Ed Fagonde.
At his request there will be no services. Donations may be made to the Jonesport Fire Department.
