Josephine B. (Robinson) Libby ,84, passed away peacefully March 2, 2016 surrounded by her family who she adored. She was born Jan. 21 , 1932 in St. Stephen NB, Canada the daughter of the late Elery and Flora (Sprague ) Robinson .She attended schools in Lubec and Pembroke and graduated from a culinary arts program in Calais , Maine . She worked in many different areas , but was best known for her cooking skills . She won 1st place in the Machias blueberry pie contest 3 years in a row, which she was very proud of . She enjoyed quilting , gardening , and many other hobbies . She especially enjoyed sharing her arts with her community . She was a member of the Jacksonville United Methodist Church, where she loved to volunteer and cook for her church family.
She is survived by her husband of 14 years Harlan Libby ; children – Stephen Taylor , Robert Taylor , Barbara Rice , Sara Newell , Flora Zulubski, and step children Francis Tomah , Frederick Moore II , Brenda Moore Mitchell, Nanette Blais , Lynn Talsey , Margaret Moore , Carl Moore , Douglas Moore , and Mary Daigle ; many , many, wonderful grandchildren , and great grandchildren , and a brother Jack Robinson . In addition to her parents she was predeceased by two sons Ernest and John Taylor
A Celebration of Life will be held 1 pm Saturday March 5, 2016 at the Jacksonville United Methodist Church, with Pastor Patti Sears officiating . In lieu of flowers those who wish, may make donations in her memory to the Jacksonville United Methodist Church.
