Glennis E. Emerson , 72, went to be with the Lord and her parents on Nov. 3, 2014 after a courageous battle with cancer; surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Addison on April 12, 1942 the daughter of Carlton and Verna (Day) Norton.
She is survived by her husband of 53 years Maxwell Emerson; daughter Sandra Emerson ; son Gregory Emerson and wife Janice ; granddaughter Jessica Peabody and partner Daniel Hinojosa;and great grandson Maxwell “Little Max” Matthews ; two sisters Jacklin Emerson and Betty Peabody and husband Maxwell ; a brother Nathan “Buss” Norton and wife Ann ; two step-grandchildren Brent Davis and children Brooke and Nathaniel , and Crystal Davis and her son Alvin Jr.
She will also be sadly missed by many sister-in-laws, brother-in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins , and friends.
In addition to her parents she was predeceased by a special brother-in-law Ernest Emerson.
Friends are invited to visit with the family from 2-4 pm and 6-8pm Thursday Nov. 6th at the Community Church of Christ, Jonesport, where a funeral service will be held the following day at 11am. Burial will follow in the Norton Family Cemetery, Addison. In lieu of flowers donations in her memory may be made to Cancer Care of Maine EMHS Foundation PO Box 931, Bangor, ME 04402-0931 or to the Ark Animal Shelter PO Box 296 Cherryfield,ME 04622.
