Dorothy “Dottie” Jones Olson  passed peacefully in the early morning of February 13th, joining her husband Ernest of sixty years. Dottie was born in Lubec on November 27, 1929, daughter of Meredith and Salome Wright Jones.  
Dottie is survived by her daughter Kim Denbow of Lubec; two sons Ernest Jr. and his wife, Roberta of Auburn, and Paul and his wife, Debra of Lubec; three grandchildren; Megan Olson, Jessica Matthews, and Ryan Denbow; two great grandchildren Alex & Jaelyn Matthews. She is also survived by her sister, Maxine Nugent of Bangor; two special sister-in-laws, Laura Calder and Rhoda Eaton of Lubec; two brother-in-laws, and many nieces and nephews. Dottie was employed as a cook at the Lubec School Department for over twenty years. She shared many stories about the Lubec students and days spent with her friend and co-worker Nina Bridges. She loved spending time with her family, many special friends, and taking long rides. Many heartfelt thanks from Dottie and family to the wonderful caregivers of CHCS’s Home Health and Hospice Program, and to the many special family and friends spend many hours with Dottie during her illness. Graveside services will be held at the Olson Cemetery for family and friends on Sunday, February 16th at 1pm.  Friends and family may gather at Dottie’s home directly following the service.   Those who wish to remember Dottie in a special way may make gifts in her memory to CHCS’s Hospice Team, P. O. Box 425, Bangor, ME  04402.
