Della B. Carroll
Whitneyville
Della B. Carroll, 86, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on August 10, 2018. She was born in Whitneyville, Maine the daughter of Colby and Vivian (Hasty) Bridges. Della attended Beal College in Bangor and Lamson College in Phoenix, AZ.  She served as Whitneyville town clerk, as secretary at the Registry of Deeds, and the Veteran’s Administration in Machias. She moved to Phoenix, AZ in 1977 where she continued to work as a secretary for the Arizona Department of Health. She returned to Whitneyville in 1985, where she lived for several years and then moved to Roe Village in Hampden. After her vision took a turn for the worse, she moved to Changing Tides Assisted Living in Harrington where she received wonderful care from Tara Skeate and her wonderful staff members, Michelle, Tammy, Stephanie, and Cindy, as well as the staff at Hospice.
Della enjoyed seeing seedlings sprout into plants both in AZ and ME. She was an avid reader and most recently was an enthusiastic user of the Talking Books program from the Maine State Library. Her most treasured moments were spending time with her family.
She is survived by her four children Kathleen Beal and her husband, Robert; Patricia Danielson and her husband Joseph; Dorothy Charlan and her husband, Donald; and Jason Carroll and his wife, Laurel.
Della is also survived by her sister Dorothy Bodger, brothers Vinal Reynolds and his wife Joyce, and Norman Reynolds and his wife Betty.
She is also survived by her grandchildren, Sheldon Beal, Michael Beal, Christine Emerson, Kathryn Danielson, Ryan Danielson, Sonya Yilmaz, Lisa Fowler, Nichole Mendoza, Everett Carroll, and Colby Carroll. She is survived by 11 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her brother Charles Bridges and sister, Addie Dennison, and nephews, Colby Dennison and Dwayne Reynolds.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, August 15, 2018, at Whitneyville Congregational Church. Interment services will be held immediately following the service at Whitneyville Cemetery. Condolences and memories may be shared at www.mcclurefamilyfuneral.com
