Doris “Dee” Virginia (King) Scull, 63, passed away May 21, 2018 at a Bangor hospital . She was born October 20, 1954 in Harrisburg, Pa the daughter of the late David and Frances (Saxton) King . She lived most of her life in Egg Harbor Township, N.J. where she became the first female police officer on the mainland of Atlantic County with the Egg Harbor Township Police Department where she met and married husband Dave.Dee eventually transferred to the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office where she attained the rank of Captain and headed the Crimes Against Children Unit. Upon retirement she and Dave moved to Lubec, Maine where they were quickly befriended by many Lubeckers as if they weren’t “from away”. Dee cherished these friends almost as much as her Bernese Mountain Dogs Reme, Dash and Emmie. In Lubec Dee owned and operated Wags and Wool, a knitting and pet supply shop, with her friend and business partner Karen Baker. She is pre-deceased by parents David and Frances King. She is survived by husband Dave; son Jeffery of Bridgeton, NJ; son Gregory, his wife Kaycee Capewell and grandchildren Brodee and Rowan of Mt. Laurel, N.J.; sister Judy Souchek, her husband Tom and niece and nephew Quinn and Connor of Brick, NJ; brother David, his wife Rose and nieces Heather and Caitlin of Egg Harbor Township, NJ.
