W. Milo Haskins
Lubec
W. Milo Haskins , 83, passed away peacefully after a brief illness on May 18, 2018 at his home surrounded by family. He was born in Lubec September 23, 1934 the son of the late Webster W. and Elizabeth (Schofield) Haskins .He was a graduate of Lubec High School. Following high school he trained at the American Can Company, and went on to work at the family owned Haskins Sardine Factory. He worked as a machinist at Stinsons Plant in Bath returning home to be near family, he worked for Schoppee Dairy in Machias. He then began a 25 year career at Lubec Water and Electric Company becoming the Manager. Lubec Water and Electric merged into Bangor Hydro from which he retired at the age of 57.
He, along with his wonderful wife Jeannine enjoyed extensive travelling and enjoying life with their daughter and grandchildren.They loved wintering in Myrtle Beach for the past 11 years. He enjoyed making woodcrafts as  a hobby , and running his “Naughty Pine” shop travelling around Washington County craft shows making friends with many people.
Milo was a Christian and devoted servant to God. He was a Certified Lay Minister. He was an active member of the West Lubec United Methodist Church, serving on all boards, and having  a love for music was a member of the choir. He was a 60 year life member, and Past Master of Washington Lodge #37 A.F. & A.M. Masonic Lodge in Lubec, as well a member and Past High Priest of Lubec Chapter #76 RA Masons, a member of St Croix Council #11, Calais, a Noble of Anah Shrine, member of the Past Masters Unit.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years Jeannine (Lingley) ; a daughter Carla Sue Nutter and husband Jay of Dover Foxcroft ; a granddaughter Yvonne Souza and wife Loretta Souza of Capitola,CA ; a grandson Thomas Stewart and girlfriend Lauren Roche U.S. Navy currently stationed Kittery Point; special sisters- in-law Bertha Newman, and Carolyn Newman and husband Wells both of Campobello; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to his parents he was predeceased by two sisters Catherine Mae Sawyer, and Gloria Bowers.
A Memorial service will be held 1 pm Tuesday May 22, 2018 at the West Lubec United Methodist Church with Pastors John and Patrice Goodwin officiating, accompanied with Masonic services. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make donations in his memory to the West Lubec United Methodist Church
