Obituary for Clifford Johnson Jr.

On March 12, 2017 a loving heart stopped beating.
Clifford F. Johnson Jr. age 69, passed away unexpectedly at his home with his family by his side.Clifford was born June 10th, 1947 to Clifford and Minnie (Carver) Johnson, Sr. of Jonesport.
At a young age he started working in construction.A few of the major projects he helped build were the Boston Aquarium, the Veteran’s hospital in Jamaica Plains, and shortly before retiring and moving home, he helped with the rebuilding of the Portland waterfront and Tukey’s Bridge.
In 1967 Cliff entered the Army and attended jump school before serving in Viet Nam. During his time in Viet Nam he received the Army Commendation Medal and Army Commendation Medal with V for heroism.He was honorably discharged in 1970.
As a young man, Cliff was a member of the Jonesport Volunteer Fire Department.He was a member of the American Legion Post 108, VFW and DAV, Masons Lodge No. 188 of Jonesport, Anah Shrine of Bangor, WCSC, and United Bikers of Maine.
In his later years, he enjoyed spending time with his wife and family, helping his children and grandchildren with projects, and visiting friends.
Clifford is survived by his wife of 46 years, Jane (Beal) Johnson ;daughter Vondell Beal and husband Calvin of Jonesport, son Clifford Johnson III and Nina of Addison ;two very special grandchildren, that just lit up his life, Thomas Arlin Beal and Janie Faye Johnson ; three sisters Karleen Hart and husband Jim of Kenduskeag, Elaine Brown and husband Dwayne and Vicki-lee Johnson all of Jonesport ;in-laws Laureta Johnson, Napoleon Beal, Christine Alley and husband Allan all of Jonesport and Ernest Lamson of Buxton ;an uncle Willard Carver Jr. and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends that he loved dearly.
Service will be held 2pm Saturday March 25, 2017 at the Congregational Church in Jonesport.There will not be a committal after the service, per his request he wants to be buried with the Love of His Life at a later date.Family and friends are invited to Cliff and Jane’s home, after the service for refreshments and remembrance.
