Condolence: John Sawyer can best be described as an imposing gentleman with a heart of gold, many stories to tell, kind encouragement to offer and a firecracker personality too. I met Jon through our shared Insurance profession and am all the better for it. John will be missed.

Condolence: So sorry to hear of John's passing. He was a good friend and he and I have many good memories of the "Camp" on Machias River. John was such a well liked and respected man here in Jonesport. Always took time to share a point of view or a story. Memories are important and we know you all have many to share of both he and your mom.

Condolence: The first time I met John in 1986, I feared he may crush my hand in a handshake. He was a big man in stature. I was soon to learn however that he was bigger in heart than anything else. I have lost touch with John since his retirement but often think of the great visits I had with him as an insurance company representative. He was a wonderful man to know and will be sadly missed.
