Obituary for David Haley

David R Haley 52, of Addison, died February 22, 2017, after losing his battle with cancer. He
was born August 4, 1965 in Lynn Massachusetts, son of the late Gloria Batson Haley Frisbee
and the late Roger Woods Haley, and stepson of the late Dennis L. Frisbee.

David experienced many challenges throughout his life but was the kindest, most loving person.
He enjoyed life to the fullest and loved being with family and friends. He loved sports especially
Red Sox baseball team and the Patriots football team. His favorite players were David Ortiz
from the Red Soxs and Tom Brady from the Patriots. David loved country and western, rock
and roll music, from which he obtained his nickname “Rockin Dave”; bowling on the wildcats
team in Machias, playing uno and skipbo card games, and dancing at Jordans take-out in
Ellsworth.

David also loved attending the special olympics games, from which he won many medals. He
especially enjoyed attending sessions and activities with his many friends from Sunrise
Opportunities and Living Innovations.

A special thanks to Tom Batson, Living Innovations and Sunrise Opportunities for giving David
all the support and opportunities he experienced. Also special thanks to Fran Havey for helping
with care of David during his illness.

David will be sadly missed by all his relatives and friends who always gave him love and support
throughout his life.

He is survived by his half brother Kenneth Frisbee of Addison, aunts and uncles: Tom Batson
and Vicky Maximo, James Batson Sr. and Janice Allen, Frank Batson, William and Vicky
Batson, Elliott and Lena Batson, Joan and Leonard Call, Ruth Johnson, Adrian Batson and Judy
Rolfe, all of Addison; Donna and Stanley Smith of Jonesboro, Ellen Spox and Don Hallett of
Bangor, Cindy and Al Campbell of Kentucky, Brenda Batson of Calais, Theresa and Stanley
Wilbur of Hancock, Roger Frisbee of Eliot Me, Brenda Holtzman of Maryland and Cathryn
Marquis of Florida, He is also survived by many special cousins, nieces and nephews.

David was preceded by his Father, Roger Haley; Mother, Gloria Haley Frisbee; Stepfather,
Dennis Frisbee; cousins, Cathy Doughty and Ty Batson; uncle, Walter Batson III.

Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. on Sunday, March 5, at the Faith United Methodist Church,
