Condolence From: Deane & Kay Richmond
Condolence: Our condolences to the family - we are so sorry to hear of this loss. Deane says, "I can't think back to 9/11 without thinking of Doug. It occurred to me near the end of the school day that radios were not allowed on the job. I drove to the Hospice Training Center in Machiasport to deliver the shocking news. Everyone was just as aghast as I had been all day. I will be saluting Doug as I build my first duck blind of 2017."

The world has lost a fine gentle man who had a work ethic & moral ethics second to none. Folks who come into our house through the ground floor door immediately spy Doug's trademark craftsmanship. the individual circuits leaving the service entrance at right angles & traveling along a running board toward their destination. Each is held in place by staples nailed perfectly beneath one another. It's really a piece of art!

Condolence: Ellen, it has taking me awhile to write this. Doug was a very special friend and I will miss his company. We shared many laughs while gunning, 4 wheeling and fishing. It was always a special time when you and Doug had our nights out. Church suppers in Lubec will not be the same. As you know Sharon and I are just a phone call away.

Condolence: Dear Ellen and Family,
So sorry to learn of Doug's passing. He was a great guy
and a wonderful person. I never heard anything but praises for him and the kind of man he was. He always left me with the impression of the gentle and quiet knowingness of his presence. So happy to have seen you both at the Jonesboro High School Reunion. With Love and our deepest sympathies, Sally & Rich
