Dennis L. Frisbee, 75, died January 5, 2017, at Machias Hospital after a short illness.
He was born, May 14, 1941, and raised in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, son of the late Lewis
and Mary (Ryan) Frisbee. Dennis worked for many years as a truck driver for Fox and Ginn
Movers in Bangor, Me. He met and married Gloria Batson in August 1967. They lived in Old
town, Maine before moving to Addison in the late 1980’s. Dennis loved camping and family
cookouts, doing word search books, puzzles, listening to country and western music, and telling
stories about his truck driving experiences which he loved doing the most. After moving to
Addison, Dennis worked as a maintenance person for L Ray Packing Co, and as a laborer for
Harold MacQuinn Inc of Ellsworth until he became disabled in 2001. Dennis spent last few years
in the Marshall Nursing Home in Machias. He was preceded by his wife Gloria (Batson) Frisbee
in 2014, his late brother Ray Moreau and late brother-in-law Walter N. Batson III.
He is survived by his step-son David Haley and son Kenneth Frisbee both of Addison: two
sisters, Brenda Holtzman of Hyattsville, Maryland and Cathryn Marquis of North Port, Florida:
One brother, Roger Frisbee of Eliot, Maine: four grandchildren: Natasha Smith of Bangor,
Joseph and Jessie West of Jonesport, and Kenneth Frisbee Jr. of Jonesport. Two
Great-Grandchildren: Tyler Hand and Summer Harrison. Several brother and sister-in laws and
many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. on Saturday, January 14, at the
Addison Town Hall, Water Street, Addison, ME. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in
Dennis Frisbee name to American Heart Association/American Stroke Association P O Box
417005, Boston, MA 02241-7005.
