Obituary for Robert Bruce "Bob or Bobby J" Jessiman

Robert Bruce Jessiman, known as "Bob" or "Bobby J" by his legion of friends, lost his long battle with cancer on August 23, 2016. He passed away at his home in Edmunds surrounded by his parents and brother Walter. His brother Martin who had spend much time with him during his last stay in the hospital was enroute to Maine from his home in Atlanta at the time of his passing.

Bob was born on February 13th 1963 in New London, CT to Edwin M. and Dorothy (Robinson) Jessiman. From an early age, Bob was an avid sportsman. He loved both fishing & hunting and eagerly looked forward to "camp" with his long-time friends.
Bob graduated from Washington Academy in 1981 after which he attended the University of Maine at Machias. There he joined his fraternity Kappa Delta Phi ,and its sister sorority , establishing a bond of friendship that was unbroken throughout his life. That band of brothers and sisters stood by him throughout his long battle  with cancer and shared the many good times as well as bad. He and his family of birth consider them as part of the Jessiman Family.
Shortly after college Bob began a career at Georgia Pacific in Woodland and remained there through the mills various transitions of ownership. He lead a close bond of friendships with many colleagues.
 Bob was also known as "Spotted Turtle" within the Hamilton Band/Mohegan of Connecticut. He was proud of his ancestral roots, both European and Native.
Bob was Lutheran, and was particularly fond of Pastor Elaine Hewes of Redeemer Lutheran Church of Bangor. Pastor Elaine prayed with Bob and shared the sacraments with him during his hospital stay.
Bob was married,but only for a very short time.That marriage produced his only child, a daughter, Cierra who resides in New York state.The joy of Bob's life for the past eight years has been spending his free time as “Grampie Bob with his granddaughter Linda who lives in Whiting with her parents.

In addition to his daughter Cierra ,and  granddaughter Linda he is survived by his parents of Whiting ; two brothers Walter & wife Kelly of Cutler, and Martin of Atlanta;  nieces Channing and husband Michael Johnson of Cutler, Britini St. Louis and partner Curtis Sullivan of Machias ;nephews Trevor Jessiman and wife Abby of Cutler, and Romayn Richards of East Machias. He is also survived by two very special new members of his family Halle, infant daughter of Channing and Michael and Walker, infant son of Britini and Curtis.
He was predeceased by all four of his grandparents.

A celebration of the life of Robert Jessiman will be held at the Union Meeting House in Whiting at 4pm on Wednesday, August 31st. A reception will be held at the Whiting Community Building following the celebration. Condolences and memories may be shared at mcclurefamilyfuneral.com.
