Norma Avis Foss Flaherty
Marshfield
Norma Avis Foss Flaherty went home to be with the Lord on July 1, 2016 at home with her loving husband of 67 years, and her daughter by her side. She was born on September 30, 1930 in Machias and the daughter of the late Marice and Hazel Foss.
Norma was employed as a telephone operator for many years, she also worked at the Manpower training offices, and the Downeast 5&10. She enjoyed reading, crocheting, gardening and traveling. She was also a member of the Machias Valley Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband Robert Flaherty and daughter Karen Flaherty of Marshfield, ME; brother Leeman & wife Linda of Harrison, ME; special nephew Michael Flaherty of York, ME; special niece Kathy Smith of Marshfield, ME; many other nieces and nephews and special friends Jeff & Tina Ingemis.
In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her sisters Marie Berry and Muriel Flaherty.
Graveside services will be held 2 pm Wednesday July 6th at the Getchell Cemetery, Marshfield. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Association Maine Chapter, 383 US Route 1, Scarbrough, ME 04074.
