Obituary for Ramona L. Tenan

Ramona L. Tenan

Cherryfield and Machias

Ramona L. Tenan , 87 , passed away peacefully at Marshall Healthcare Facility in Machias on May 5, 2016. She was born November 13, 1928 and grew up with her parents James Jr and Sarah (Harrington) Tenan, along with her two older sisters Gloria and Arleta on the Ridge Road in Cherryfield. Despite having to fight a lifelong battle with mental illness, she managed to maintain her sweet shy smile and sparkle in her beautiful eyes, that won the hearts of all who knew her . Although she was known for her quiet nature , and for minding her own business , she also displayed remarkable endurance and strong will.
She is survived by her pride and joy, her son Bruce E. Tenan and his wife Heather of Cherryfield, as well as a niece Sarah Anderson , and two nephews Larry and James Brown .For the past many years, she has appreciated the attentive and loving care of the staff at Marshall's Health Care Facility where she was viewed and treated as a family member . A highlight of each week for her was spending time visiting with her son, Bruce, every Saturday when they would share laughs and some kind of candy treat together . She always gave attention to her wardrobe and like to be well-dressed. She was known to take note of what others were wearing and would periodically ask for three new house dresses in specific colors and couldn't keep still until she got them . She will be sadly missed by everyone whose lives she touched . A graveside service will be held 3 pm Wednesday May 11th at the Willey Cemetery RT 182, Cherryfield.
