Margaret “Bama” B. Jones, 93, went to be with her Lord and Savior on May 24, 2013. She was born in Trescott June 14, 1919 the daughter of the late George Jr and Esther (Tyler) Bridges.
She married her love Decosta Jones on February 27, 1937. They were blessed with one child Lewis “Lukie” Jones. She worked for many years at the A&P, later becoming Farmer’s Red & White in Lubec until she retired. She lived for her grandchildren. She loved to attend all their sporting and school events. She was an avid Red Sox fan. She also enjoyed to cook, knit and crochet, reading romance novels, and doing crossword puzzles.
In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her husband Decosta R. Jones, their son Lewis “Lukie” Jones Sr. and three sisters- Genevieve Moore, Arlene Brown, and Agnes Johnson.
She is survived by, and will be sadly missed by her daughter-in-law Mary (Rogers) Jones; grandchildren – Lewis “Tige” Jones Jr ; Tamrah Dinmore her husband Austin, and children Jocelyn and Olivia ; Larry Jones, his son Torin, a step-daughter Reegan Brown, and her son Aaden ; Mark Jones, his fiance Lindsay Davis and sons Jordan and Decosta ; Diane Lahey, her husband Robert, and daughter Demee ; nieces Marion and Robert Thomas, Ester “Kitty Beaudoin, and Mary Preston ; nephews – Francis and Marie Moore, Warren and Cheryl Gay, and Hardy and Martha Gay.
The family would like to thank the wonderful staff of Ocean View Nursing Home for their awesome care and love they showed in making this her beloved home. In lieu of flowers donations in her memory may be made to the Oceanview activities Fund 2 South St. Lubec,ME 04652
Funeral Services will be held 7pm Friday evening May 31, 2013 at the Christian Temple Church Main St. Lubec with Reverend Lynn Joselyn officiating. Arrangements are in care of McClure Family Funeral Services Machias and Lubec.
